Close, But Not This Year

No IFP grant this year for While You Weren’t Looking, but we received high marks from everyone on the panel, and learned a lot about the process and IFP.  Here’s the email that informed everyone on the production team, hiding the disappointment behind half-baked wit.

Subject:  IFP Spotlight Grant

Good news:  The IFP released us from having to shoot on film, and now we are free to make this film as we please.  The grant was not ours this year, but fundraising will start in earnest this winter, and we still hold to our goal of shooting the short this summer.  With such an amazing group of supporters as yourselves, I still believe there’s a way to make this movie, and now more than ever it rambles around in my head waiting to see the light of pixels.

All of you support and well-wishes cannot be appreciated enough, and I hope to see you all on the set in June.
